RTF once again partnered with the Catamount Outdoor Family Center (COFC) to host our 2025 Fat Bike Rally. In 2024 there was worry about too little snow. This year was a 180o turn with too much snow! However, thanks to Andy (COFC groomer) we had exceptional conditions. With an estimated fifty riders we had a great day. From my perspective, everyone enjoyed riding through the winter wonderland of the Catamount Forest. Thank you, Amanda (COFC Programs and bike rentals), John (COFC Director), John (COFC Coordinator) , Andy (COFC groomer, trail marker), Tim (COFC ride leader), and Justin (COFC ride leader) for all the work that went into this day. Fat bike riding is not necessarily about speed, but more about the fun gliding along snow covered trails on a bike. And crashes do occur, fortunately accompanied by soft, snow-cushioned landings replete with giggles or guffaws!
Everyone was served a hot lunch provided by RTF: Burgers and Brats cooked to order by Chris Morrissey (“CMO” of Cool Motion Outdoor Sports, Bristol, VT and RTF Board of Directors) and his wife Samantha. Although this was a free event, thanks to those who donated to either COFC or RTF.
