About Bikes for Friends (BFF) Program
Through the RTF Bikes for Friends Program, we award bikes and a helmet to adults or children who may not have the opportunity or means to discover the joys or practicalities of cycling.
Our Partners
Thanks to several GMBC members, we have received some high-level, excellent-condition bikes. These bikes made their way to Cool Motion Outdoor Sports (CMOS), Bristol, VT where owner Chris Morrissey checks them out, tunes them, replaces any needed parts, and finds new owners. All of this is at no charge to the recipients. Chris has strong connections to the Bristol area cycling community and will match bike types and sizes with a new, happy owner.
David Rath (RTF BOD) has connections with the area guardian ad litem program, and we have been able to award bikes and helmets to young adults within that program. We also partner with Old Spokes Home and Cambridge Area Rotary through Bootlegger Bikes (St. Albans), and Power Play Sports (Morrisville) to expand the geographical reach of BFF.
Donations
Thank you to those who have donated bikes to the RTF BFF program. Our hope is that we will influence children and young adults in a positive way and have them experience the joys and freedom of simply riding a bicycle.
