The summer of 2025 brought with it not just sunshine, but also a wonderful display of community spirit on the beloved Richmond River Trail! We’re taking a moment to reflect on a major highlight from late July when the Richard Tom Foundation teamed up with the local Richmond Trails Committee to tackle essential trail maintenance. The most significant undertaking was the removal of an old, broken bridge and its swift replacement with a new, strong bridge!
The adage “many hands make light work” proved to be absolutely true, as the combined Volunteer Trail Crew worked efficiently and quickly to dismantle and remove the old bridge and install the new one. This collaboration ensures the River Trail remains safe and fun for everyone who uses it.
We were pleased to be present when lucky rider #1 crossed the brand-new span! It was a great encapsulation of why we put in the effort—to see the trail enjoyed by the community.
A massive and heartfelt Thank You goes out to the entire combined Volunteer Trail Crew — dedication and community spirit are what make the Richmond River Trail a fantastic resource for all. The Richard Tom Foundation looks forward to more collaborative adventures and successful projects with the Richmond Trails Committee.
